And so the journey begins..

So it's official! I'm a trainee teacher! Since I was only little I was eager to become a teacher. I was always that one in the class that went the extra mile and turned up with a full on project for show and tell that was totally un-necessary and totally handmade. Goodie-two-shoes vibes radiated from my soul from day one, and I can only guess now that they stemmed from my inherent love for education. Obviously I encountered many inspiring teachers along my journey through education that encouraged this passion and nurtured it into blossom, but it was always there from a young age. My family have been saying since I was a toddler: "You'll be a teacher when you grow up". Well now that I have "grown up", ( Can I just say that 18 years old certainly does not qualify me as an adult) teaching life isn't as straightforward as the prospect first seems. When people ask me what degree I'm doing and I reply 'Primary Education' the response is one of two reactions: "I could never do that" or "Oh wow how rewarding for you". My friends seem to think that i'm crazy for stressing about subject lessons because surely all that I need to know is how to count to 10 and what animals lived on Old MacDonald's farm. I don't think so. Not only do primary teachers need to be able to teach every subject (including computing?!?), but they need to know each one for every age group and how to adapt your teaching to ensure that this knowledge is actually imparted on the children.

So thank you for joining me in this crazy life journey as I encounter obstacles, challenges and magical moments!
